About Zora Neale Hurston
Zora Neale Hurston was an African American intellectual whose contributions to African American history were only recently recognized. Born in an all-Black community in Florida, Hurston wrote novels and short stories to depict the lives of African Americans in the Deep South. She was also a skilled anthropologist, and documented the folktales, language, religion, and culture of various African diasporas.
